Fixtures – Strata scheme**

If your rental property is under a strata or similar scheme, we will cover you for loss or damage to any:

  • built-in furniture and cupboards
  • stove
  • hot water service
  • shower screen
  • paint or wallpaper
  • temporary wall, floor and ceiling covers;
  • built-in air-conditioner
  • fixed awnings
  • solar panels
  • floating floorboards
  • fixture or structural improvement servicing a particular lot which the body corporate or similar is not required by law to insure or does not insure.

Important note for Rent Default

We currently do not offer cover for rent default on our Landlord policies. If you choose to take out this landlord policy, you will not have any cover for rent default. We do still cover you for malicious damage by a tenant and theft by a tenant. Please consider this before agreeing to take out this policy.

Is liability cover included?

Yes, up to $20 million. Liability cover provides you cover for your legal liability to pay compensation for death or bodily injury to someone else or loss or damage to someone else’s property arising from an incident taking place in your rental property or site.

What type of contents do we cover?

Cover may include

Items that are not permanently attached or fixed to your rental property that you own or are responsible for as part of a written employment contract or a hire or Lease agreement (except a tenancy agreement) and which:

  • you leave at your rental property for your tenants’ use; and
  • are not excluded in the PDS
Cover does not include**
  • plants, trees or shrubs growing in the ground
  • computers and their equipment
  • clothes and personal effects
  • collections of any kind
  • loose or unset gemstones, gold or silver items, jewellery, watches and money
  • personal handheld electronic devices
  • tools of trade
  • other types of items listed in the PDS
